Hatchlings Throwback – July 2026

The Hatchlings came to school in July dressed in their cozy pajamas, making for a fun and relaxed day filled with smiles and laughter. We painted our own colorful fish and sharks before working together to create a bright underwater collage. This hands-on craft encouraged creativity while developing fine motor skills and teamwork. The children also had lots of fun singing and dancing to Baby Shark, filling the classroom with music and excitement. During P.E., the children practiced their gross motor skills by crawling through a tunnel. This fun obstacle activity helped build coordination, balance, body awareness, and confidence as they cheered each other on.

Our Summer Splash Summer School at Kakuozan International Preschool continues with another exciting week of hands-on learning and creative activities! ☀️💦 This week, children explored the world around them through a variety of fun summer experiences. They became young scientists as they designed and built their own boats to test whether they could float, discovering more about problem-solving and experimentation. This year, Kakuozan International Preschool’s Summer School theme is “Summer Splash!” Children have been enjoying a variety of exciting water-based activities and hands-on experiences while exploring, creating, and learning together. During this week’s Summer School program, our students had lots of fun with creative summer activities. They tried yo-yo fishing, designed their own colorful aquarium crafts, experimented with painting using ice, and made delicious instant sorbet. What an unforgettable night we had at our Sleepover! From the moment the children arrived, there was excitement in the air as they got ready for an evening filled with creativity, teamwork, and fun. We had so much fun making LEGO-themed headbands, created their own original block buildings, did a scavenger hunt nad enjoyed making and eating their own delicious parfaits. Our Pink Eaglets became little scientists during a fun hands-on science activity! Under the careful guidance of their teachers, the children mixed different ingredients like baking soda, shaving cream, glue, and a borax solution to create their very own slime. The children loved watching the ingredients change as they stirred everything together. Time flies when you’re having fun! Our White Eaglets combined creativity with learning as they made their very own clocks using paper plates, paint, stickers, and movable clock hands. It has been a busy and exciting few weeks for our Hummingbirds at KIPS! We celebrated Tanabata (Star Festival) by creating festive decorations. During Circle Time, the children practiced their listening skills, shared ideas with their classmates, and built confidence speaking in English. In PE, our Hummingbirds developed their balance, coordination, and gross motor skills by crawling through tunnels and completing fun obstacle activities. 🎋Ducklings Celebrate Tanabata and Learn about Colours✨

This week, our Ducklings had a wonderful time celebrating Tanabata (Star Festival) while exploring the exciting world of colours! During circle time, we learned about the Tanabata story and talked about the colourful decorations that are traditionally used to celebrate this special Japanese festival. The children enjoyed making their own Tanabata decorations, practicing their fine motor skills as they folded, glued, and decorated their creations. Our colour theme continued through a variety of hands-on activities. The Ducklings practiced identifying and naming different colours through songs, games, and matching activities. They loved sorting colourful objects and discovering how colours can be found all around us.

Parrots Class had another busy and exciting month filled with learning, exercise, and fun! The children learned how to play hopscotch, practicing their balance, coordination, and counting skills as they jumped from square to square. Everyone enjoyed cheering on their friends and taking turns. We also continued our Running Program, building our stamina and confidence while staying active outdoors. During PE, the children challenged themselves on the vaulting box, practicing safe jumping techniques and celebrating each achievement with big smiles. The White Eaglets had an exciting month exploring our All About Sports and Games theme! We kicked things off with Wear Something Sporty Day, and the children loved coming to school dressed in their favorite sportswear. It was a great way to celebrate our new topic and share our love of sports with friends. As part of our creative activities, the children made their own sports medals using clay.
