覚王山インターナショナルプリスクールのサマースクール2週目も楽しいアクティビティでいっぱいです！リングトスゲームを自分で作ったり、楽しいペインティング、パンケーキのクッキングやサマーパフェも作りました。大好きな宝探しゲームでは宝物を見つけるためのヒントをスクールの中を走り回って探しました。小学生クラスは名古屋科学館へ遠足にも出かけました。 The second week of Summer School at Kakuozan International Preschool was busy and fun with many activities! Students made ring toss games, cooked pancakes and enjoyed a summer parfait, did lots of painting and dashed around the school to find all the hints in a treasure hunt! The Elementary students also went to the Nagoya Science Museum for a Field Trip! What a great week.

今年の覚王山インターナショナルプリスクールのサマースクールテーマは”世界のお祭り”！。子ども達は様々な国のお祭りについてゲームや工作、楽しいアクティビティを通して学び、体験しました。サマースクール初めの週は私たちが住んでいる日本と遠く離れた国ブラジルのお祭りについて。日本の夏祭りでするヨーヨー釣りやブラジルのお祭りでつけるマスクを作りました。その他にも宝探しゲームやペインティング、トレイルミックス(お菓子ミックス)を作るクッキングなど子ども達は最高の夏休みの1週間を過ごしました。 The theme for Summer School 2022 at Kakuozan International Preschool this year was “Festivals Around the World!” Students enjoyed learning about how different countries celebrations and learned through guided activities, games, and of course lots of fun. The first week was very busy exploring the Japanese summer festival game of yo-yo fishing, making a Brazilian festival mask, making trail mix, enjoying a summer themed treasure hunt and lots of painting! It was an awesome week and we hope that everyone who came enjoyed themselves.

パラシュートの周りを歩いたり、持ち上げたり、その下をくぐったり子供たちはパラシュートが大好きです。Up! and down! と子どもたちは大喜び！好きな色の部分を掴んでみんなでぐるぐる回ったりします。楽しい時間を過ごせました。 Hatchlings Class love to play with the parachute. We can walk around in a circle and hold the parachute up and down. It’s even fun to go under as well! Activities that involve walking, jumping, balancing and moving up and down are important for our little learners as they develop their gross motor skills.

覚王山インターナショナルプリスクールの大人気イベントの１つキッザニアニアトリップに兵庫県西宮市までバスで行ってきました！キッザニアは子どものお仕事体験ができる施設でもちろん英語プログラムに参加です。今回子ども達はパイロット、ベーカリー、ガソリンスタンドでお仕事をしました！お給料ももらえるんですよ。全員が目を輝かしながらはじめてのお仕事体験を楽しんでいました。また来年を楽しみにしていてね！ This year we went to Kidzania Koshien in Hyogo for our first big field trip! Students and teachers woke up bright and early to travel on a bus for a few hours. Kidzania is a large indoor model city where children can try their hand at different occupations and job experiences. It’s a professional theme park for kids! Our students enjoyed making pastries, riceballs and working at a gas station. It was so much fun and looking forward to going again next year.

今月のテーマは世界について。年中さんの子供たちは私たちの住んでいる地球を創作しました。地球って何？どこにあるの？子ども達にとって不思議がいっぱいです。青色と緑色の紙を小さくちぎり、上手に指でノリを使って貼り付けていきます。地球の周りの宇宙は絵の具で黒く塗り、キラキラしたグリッターをつけて銀河を表しました。 Parrots are incredibly creative! This month they learned about the “World Around Us” and recreated their world. First, they ripped up colorful paper in blue and green. Using their fingers, they glued the pieces of paper onto their world and decorated it with paint and sparkly glitter. What a beautiful interpretation of the world.

覚王山インターナショナルプリスクールでは2歳児さんから文字を書く練習を行っています。はじめての鉛筆は太めのくもんの三角形鉛筆。ゆっくり丁寧に鉛筆の持ち方から線のなぞり方など指導していきます。年少クラスからは本格的にライティングのレッスンがスタートします。アルファベットの大文字と小文字の書き順から学びます。線のどこに書くかも学びます。毎日コツコツ練習することで自分の名前や単語が自分で書けるようになります。子ども達の真剣に取り組むこの顔がとても誇らしいです。 Hummingbirds Class students are learning how to write their ABC’s by themselves! They are very good at holding their pencils and writing their name. The teachers show them the correct stroke order and write the letters on the whiteboard. We then encourage the Hummingbirds to write in their notebooks. We practice writing our letters every day!

エレメンタリーコース(小学生バイリンガルクラス)はテストウィークです。2年生以上は辞書を使いながらテストを受けます。テストはグラマー、ライティング、リーディング、リスニング、クリエイティブライティングのカテゴリーで実施されます。子ども達は一生懸命日常の努力の結果を出します。テストの後はサイエンスの実験やクッキング、アートなど楽しいレッスンが待っています！ At the end of Term 1, students in our Elementary Course program study and sit for term 1 tests. We always encourage the students to try their best! Students in 2nd grade and above are encouraged to use their dictionaries (Scholastic Children’s Dictionary) and have tests for all their classes including Grammar, Creative Writing and Reading and Listening. After the test we enjoy a fun lesson such as cooking, science and art. Great Term 1 everyone!
