White Eaglets Get Creative!
The White Eaglets love getting creative, exploring new materials, and, of course, getting a little messy along the way! This month, we have been enjoying lots of fun and hands-on art activities that allow the children to experiment, create, and express their own ideas.
One of our favorite activities was making oobleck! The children mixed cornstarch and water together and discovered that this unusual mixture can feel both hard and soft. When they pressed or squeezed it, it became firm, but when they relaxed their hands and let it flow through their fingers, it seemed to melt away. The children had so much fun touching, squeezing, and investigating the oobleck while discovering its unique properties.
We also enjoyed a group painting activity, where the children worked together to create a large collaborative artwork. It was wonderful to see them share the space, experiment with different colors, and watch their ideas come together on the same canvas.
Another exciting activity involved making their own original pictures using string and a frame. The children wrapped string around the frame in different ways to create interesting shapes and patterns. They then used their creations as inspiration for their own artwork. Every picture was completely unique!
Creative activities like these give the White Eaglets opportunities to develop their fine motor skills, creativity, problem-solving skills, and confidence while having lots of fun.
We wonder what exciting and messy creative adventure the White Eaglets will discover next week!
