覚王山インターナショナルプリスクールのある名古屋で雪がたくさんっ降りました。1-2歳クラスHatchilingsクラスでは窓から雪降るのをみんなで観察しました。綺麗な冷たい雪にみんなワクワク。雪観察の後は色や形のマッチングゲームをしたり，粘土で遊びました。小さな指を器用に動かしながら色々な形を作ろうとしている姿が可愛かったです! Our Hatchlings children had a fun day. It was snowing in Nagoya so we couldn’t go to the park, but we watched snowflakes fall from the window! We also matched colors and shapes together one by one. We also enjoyed learning about playdough and touching it. It was fun to touch and make shapes with it. Good job Hatchlings!

覚王山インターナショナルプリスクールの年少から年長の子供たちは毎月子ども版のプレゼンテーションを行います。今月のテーマは好きな本について。子どもたちは自分の好きな本をお友達や先生に紹介するのを楽しみにしています。この発表は子どもたちの自信を伸ばしたり、人前で自分の意見を述べる練習をする良い機会となります。発表の後はQ&A。お友達からの質問に答えていきます。 Every month our preschoolers prepare for Show and Tell. This month the theme is, “My Favourite English Book,” and Eaglets, Parrots and Hummingbirds students are very excited to show their favourite books to their friends and teachers. Show and Tell is a great way for children to develop their confidence and practice speaking in front of others. Their classmates also learn to listen quietly and ask interesting questions.

覚王山インターナショナルプリスクールに鬼が来たー!もう1匹来たー！ 1歳児クラス(Hatchlingsクラス)と2歳児クラス(Ducklingsクラス)、年少さん(Hummingbirdsクラス)のお友だちは今年も大泣きでしたが、一生懸命、豆を投げて鬼を追い払いました。年中さん(Parrotsクラス)、年長さん(Eagletsクラス)では怖がるお友だちもいましたが、楽しそうに”Go away evil!! Come good luck!”（鬼は外！福は内！）と大声で叫んでくれました。今年が、福の多い一年になりますように！ “Go away Ogre! Welcome happiness!!” On Friday an ogre came to both the South and North Campus to visit the children. Some of our students were scared, but everyone was so brave! We practiced throwing makeshift beans to scare the ogre away and to bring good luck. Good job!!

覚王山インターナショナルプリスクールの年少前Yellow and Orange Ducklingsクラスは最近書く練習を始めました。正しく鉛筆を持ち、線をなぞります。何でもそうですが、始めが肝心。スクールでは正しく鉛筆を持ち、書き順や書く場所を最初にきちんと教えていきます。また、科学の実験では、水と油を混ぜる実験をしました。水と油が混ざり合わないことに子どもたちはびっくりしていました。なぜ？どうして？と疑問を持つことがとても大切です。 The Yellow and Orange Ducklings class children enjoy their daily lessons. They recently started a tracing and first writing notebook to practice holding a pencil, drawing lines and tracing shapes! They also loved their science lesson. Children shook the jar of oil and water and were surprised when they didn’t mix! Teachers challenged them by asking “why!?!”

覚王山インターナショナルプリスクールの年少Blue and Green Hummingbirdsクラスでは節分の準備が進んでいます。また今年もあの鬼がやってきます。紙コップ、画用紙、紐など様々な材料を使ってそれぞれの鬼を作成しました。本物の鬼がやってくる日までドキドキしますね。 Blue and Green Hummingbirds are getting ready for Setsubun! The ogre is coming… OH NO! Using paper cups, construction paper, string and various craft material, our Hummingirds students enjoyed creating their own ogre. Are they ready for when the real ogre comes to visit?

覚王山インターナショナルプリスクールの年少から年長の子供たちは毎月子ども覚王山インターナショナルプリスクールの年中Parrotsクラスは休暇に旅行に行く旅行ごっこをしました。自分でパスポートを作り、どの国に行きたいのかを中に書き込みました。たくさんの子供たちが担任のNane先生の国トンガに行きたいと言っていました。空港に到着すると、荷物チェック、出国審査を終えると飛行機に乗って、それぞれの国へ出発です。子どもたちは夢中になって旅行ごっこを楽しみました。 Our Parrots students (age 4～5 years) pretended to go on a holiday overseas… all while staying in their classroom. They made their own passports and wrote what country they wanted to visit. Many students said they wanted to visit Tonga!! After they passed through “customs,” they had a party on the plane. It was so much fun.

覚王山インターナショナルプリスクールに、名古屋国際中学からIBプログラムの一環で高校生3人がSDGsについて発表に来てくれました。その中の1人は私たちの卒園生です。発表は子どもたちにとって、とても興味深いもので、目を輝かせながらプレゼンを聞いていました。環境や友情の大切さを学ぶことができました。最高のプレゼンをありがとう！ Our students were lucky enough to meet and interact with 3 students from Nagoya International Junior High School. One was a graduate from our preschool program and presented a lesson about SDG’s. It was a fun and interesting experience as the Eaglets children were able to think about the environment and friendships. Thank you for coming to our school! We would love to see you all again.

覚王山インターナショナルプリスクールの年長Eagletsクラスは身体を動かすのが大好きです。今子どもた達は鉄棒の逆上がりに一生懸命挑戦しています。公園でも屋内でも補助ボードを使って猛練習です。4月から小学校1年生になる子どもたち、スクールでは諦めずに努力し続ければなんだってできるようになると言うこと、Nothing impossible! を子供たちに伝え、みんなで逆上がりの練習をしています。卒園までに全員逆上がり成功を目指します！頑張れEaglets! Eaglets students are exercising and moving their bodies every day! All the students are trying their best to be able to forward and backwards roll on the bars. We practice at the park and also indoors when it rains. It is really challenging to do but the Eaglets are trying their best. Go Eaglets go! You can do it!

覚王山インターナショナルプリスクールの1-2歳Hatchingsクラスの子供たちは毎日様々なことを学び成長しています。最近はサークルタイムでパラシュートを使って踊ったり歌ったりことと公園遊びが大好きです。公園ではどんぐりや葉っぱを拾い集め、それを使ってアートプロジェクトを行いました。また感情についても学んでいます。嬉しい、楽しい、悲しい、怒っているなど、顔の表情で感情を読み取ることができることを学びました。Good job Hatchlings! Hatchlings are busy learning and growing everyday! They love dancing and singing during Circle Time, moving and exercising with the parachute and playing in the park. This month Hatchlings students collected leaves and acorns from Shiroyama Park to use in an art project. They also loved learning about emotions and learning about the parts of the face. Good job Hatchlings!

覚王山インターナショナルプリスクールの年少Green Hummingbirdsクラスは「What happens when……?」と言うテーマに沿って粘土遊びを行いました。粘土を違う形に型取り、ちぎったり、丸めたりして動物や、自然にあるものを作りあげました。自分たちの作ったものをお友達や先生に見せ、楽しい時間を過ごしました。 The Green Hummingbirds class is exploring the theme, “What Happens When…?” They enjoyed using their clay and playdough to explore what happens when they mould clay into different shapes to create animals, shapes and nature scenes! It was fun to be creative and show our classmates and teachers what we made.
