👹✨Setsubun at Kakuozan International Preschool✨
This week, our preschoolers enjoyed celebrating Setsubun, a traditional Japanese event that welcomes good fortune and marks the change of seasons.
Through stories, songs, and hands-on activities, the children learned about Setsubun while practicing simple English phrases such as “Go away, ogre!” and “Welcome good luck!” To make the experience extra special, an ogre came to visit our school! The children bravely threw make-believe beans and shouted “Go away, ogre!” as they learned about this traditional Japanese event in a safe and playful way.
The ogre visit was carefully designed to be fun and age-appropriate, and the children quickly turned excitement into laughter. Setsubun was a wonderful opportunity to combine culture, play, and English learning, creating a memorable experience for our preschoolers.
