We are enjoying this cool weather and many fun fall themed activities. Eaglets and Parrots students put on blindfolds and played Pin the Tail on the Scarecrow! It was a lot of fun to listen to our friends give directions like “to the left!, to the right”
As the theme this month is “Light and Dark,” our Eaglets students tried an interesting activity. Blindfolded, they used crayons to draw different shapes picked out from a box. After taking off their blindfolds, they compared their drawings. How accurate was their drawing? Was it easy or difficult to do? It was a lot of fun. 覚王山インターナショナルプリスクールの年長Eagletsクラスでは目隠しをして絵を描くという面白いアクティビティをしました。今月のテーマは「暗さと明るさ」。目隠しをして箱の中から選んだ形と同じ形をクレヨンで画用紙に書いてみます。描き終わったら目隠しを外し自分が描いた絵と選ばれた形とを見比べてみます。どれぐらい正確に描けたかな？簡単だった？難しかった？先生の質問に各々が答えます。楽しいアクティビティでした。
覚王山インターナショナルプリスクールの年少、年中、年長クラスは毎月子ども版のプレゼンテーションShow and Tellがあります。話すテーマは子ども達に沿った、「私の家族」、「好きな英語の歌」、「好きな食べ物」などです。時には子ども達は教室でお友達みんなの前に立つと緊張することもありますが何度か練習していくうちに自信を持って話せるようになっていきます。お友達からの質問にも堂々と答えることができます！ Every month our Eaglets, Parrots and Hummingbirds students in the North Campus have Show adn Tell. The themes range from topics such as “My Family,” “My Favorite English Song,” and most recently “My Favorite Food.” Sometimes it can be a little nervewracking to stand in front of others to speak, but with practice and encouragement all our students will grow to speak confidently! Hummingbirds class students are learning about light and dark this month. After talking about how to encourage and help each other, they painted bright idea flashlights to represent their ideas!
覚王山インターナショナルプリスクールでは10月にファミリーバーベキューイベントを愛知牧場で行いました。多くのKIPSファミリーが参加し最高の1日となりました。イベントでは芋掘り、宝探し、バーベキュー、ミニ運動会など子ども達もご家族も先生達も心から大笑いした思い出に残る時間を過ごしました！また来年やりたいですね！ In October we were very excited to have a family BBQ at Aichi Farm! Many KIPS families came to enjoy a day of sweet potato picking, a scavenger hunt, food, drink and a mini sports day. It was so much fun chatting and playing together!!
覚王山インターナショナルプリスクールの土曜日クラスは幼稚園児、小学生対象の英会話クラスです。クラスはレベル別で4時間半のレギュラーコースか6時間のロングコースがあり、ネイティブの先生とバイリンガル日本人講師が担当させていただきます。お子様達は楽しく質の高いカリキュラムに沿って遊びながら楽しく英語を学んでいきます。Sealsクラスはレベル2のクラスでレッスンのアクティビティ以外に毎週の宿題、また子ども版のプレゼンテーションShow and Tellがあります。週1回でも長時間英語環境にいることで子ども達の英語力はメキメキ上がっていきます。 Our Saturday program is a full immersion program for preschoolers and elementary aged children. This four and a half program is taught by 2 teachers in each class with a bilingual Japanese teacher and Native English teacher. Students play and learn to communicate in English through fun and educational lessons. The Seals class have weekly homework, Show and Tell, as well as creative activities.
覚王山インターナショナルプリスクール年少HummingbirdsクラスではBlack and White Collage/白黒アートを作成しました。今月のテーマは「暗さと明るさ」。画用紙に白と黒の小さく切った紙を貼っていきます。反対の色とは何か学び、またモータースキル／器用さも養います。 The theme this month is “Dark and Light.” Our Hummingbirds students made a black and white collage using construction paper. This activity is a great way to learn about contrasting colors, opposites and also develop fine motor skills.
覚王山インターナショナルプリスクールの年少前Ducklingsクラスでは秋の工作をしました。最近気温も下がり秋がやってきました。様々な形の画用紙でたぬきを作りました。目、鼻、口に付いている両面テープも常時に剥がして貼り付けることができました。 It is getting very cold recently! Summer is truly over and Ducklings students are enjoying the fall. They made a cute fox from colorful paper and learned about different shapes. Children also did a great job peeling off stickers for its eyes, nose and mouth!
覚王山インターナショナルプリスクールの年長Eagletsクラスはこのジャンケンサイトワードゲームが大好き。遊びを通してアメリカの2年生レベルまでのサイトワードをどんどん学び吸収していきます。新しいサイトワードをみんなで練習した後、お友達を見つけじゃんけんをします。勝った方がサイトワードを言うことができ、リストの最後まで言えた方の勝ちです。子ども達は真剣そのもの。学ぶことも遊びの一部にすれば楽しく早く知識が身に付きますね。 Our Eaglets students love to play this game to practice reading their sight words. After placing sight words on the floor, children will jump towards their friends. When they reach each other, they will play a game of rock,paper and scissors. The winner will continue of their Sight Words race while their friends cheer them on. Can they read all their words?
During our weekly running program, our Parrots build their stamina, strength and team spirit by running laps together. They are getting stronger every day!
