覚王山インターナショナルプリスクールの年少前Ducklingsクラスではジャンプやボールを投げる練習をしています。まず最初にフラフープをジャンプしてくぐり、次に柔らかい大きなサイコロを両手で投げます。2つをつなげてやるのは少し難しいですが、みんな集中して楽しく取り組んでいました。 Ducklings class students are practicing jumping, throwing and hopping. We practiced jumping and leaping over hula hoops on the floor and then throw a soft dice with two hands. It was fun and challenging to do together.
覚王山インターナショナルプリスクールは運動にも力を入れています。運動神経と学力には密接なつながりがあります。両方をバランスよく伸ばすことで子ども達の成長が促されていきます。子ども達は体育の時間が大好きです。体育は1週間のカリキュラムの中でも大切な時間で、縄跳びや徒競走、跳び箱、マット運動(前転、後転、側転、逆立ち)など様々なことに子供たちは挑戦しています。 We love to exercise！P.E. classes are an important part of our weekly curriculum. Students learn how to jump rope, run, play tag, jump on the vault box and so much more!
マッチングとは、物と物が「同じ」だと教えるために、同じものを重ねたり、「同じ物はどれ？」と聞かれて指をさしたりします。覚王山インターナショナルプリスクールの今月のテーマはナーサリーライム／童謡です。年少前々HatchlingsクラスではThe Cow Jumped Over the Moon”の歌を歌いながら踊ったり、部屋中を飛び回って遊びました。その後は歌の歌詞に出てくるスプーンでマッチングゲームをしました。様々な大きさのスプーンを観察し、同じ色やサイズのスプーンを見つけて皆んなで楽しみました。 The theme this month is Nursery Rhymes and Stories. Hatchlings children danced to the song, “The Cow Jumped Over the Moon”, and jumped all over the room! After that they touched and compared different spoons. Can they match the size of big and little spoons?
覚王山インターナショナルプリスクールの年少Hummingbirdsクラスでは秋から宿題が始まりました。元はアルファベットや自分の名前をなぞる練習からスタートしました。今では”bat”, “dog”,”mop.” など短い単語を書けるようになりました。先生たちは子ども達をたくさん褒めて、大きなスティッカーやハイタッチで一緒に喜びます。また読み聞かせの時間も大好きで、先生が読むお話に子ども達は聞き入っています。また本読みの時間には大好きなピクチャーブックで単語探しにも集中します。Our Hummingbirds class students have homework. They start by tracing their name and the letters of the alphabet. Now, they can write CVC words like “bat”, “dog”, and “mop.” Teachers encourage them with big stickers and lots of high fives! Hummingbirds also love story time at the end of each day. They love to search for letters and words in their favorite picture books.
この素晴らしい作品を見てください。覚王山インターナショナルプリスクールの年長Eagletsクラスでは、数週間かけてこのクリスマスツリーの作品を作り上げました。形を作るところからのり付け、乾燥、装飾まで全て自分たちで行いました。とても楽しい作品品作りの時間となりました。Look at what we made! Eaglets students spent a few weeks shaping, gluing, drying and decorating a winter tree. It was a sticky, messy and colorful artwork. #考える力を養う
覚王山インターナショナルプリスクールの年中Parrotsクラスでは松ぼっくりを使ってクリスマスツリーを作りました。色を塗って小さなコットンをつけてそれぞれが思うように創作しています。松ぼっくりは少しトゲトゲしているので注意しながら作業を進めます。出来上がった作品はとてもカラフルで可愛いクリスマスツリーができました！Using pine cones, paint, pom poms and other art materials, the Parrots students made a wonderful festive tree! The pine cones were a little pointy so we had to be careful when decorating them. The finished craft was so colorful!
覚王山インターナショナルプリスクールの今月のテーマは童謡について。年長EagletsクラスではPeas Porridge Hotの歌を歌い、熱いもの、冷たいものについて話し合いました。クラスではお湯か水のどちらが風船をふくらますことができるかを実験もしましたよ。The theme this month is Nursery Rhymes and Stories. Eaglets sang the song, “Peas Porridge Hot,” and students learned about how to blow up a balloon with hot or cold water! Which balloon inflated?
覚王山インターナショナルプリスクールの年少前Ducklingsクラスでは指を使ってクリスマスツリーの飾りに色付けをしました。自分の好きな色を選んで指で塗るのは本当に楽しくて子ども達は夢中になって作業をしていました。可愛い作品ができました！The ducklings class students created their own christmas tree decorations using finger paint on baubles! They enjoyed using bright colors and created art freely. It was fun to get a little messy. #モータースキルを養う
覚王山インターナショナルプリスクールの今月のShow and Tellのテーマは私の好きな英語の本についてです。年長、年中、年少Eaglets, Parrots，Hummingbirdsクラスは、自分たちの好きな本について、クラスの前に立ってお話をしました。発表の後はお友達から質問タイム。大きな声でしっかり質問に答えていきます。もちろん全て英語です。The theme this month is “My Favorite English Book.” Our Eaglets, Parrots and Hummingbirds students stand up in front of their classmates to talk about their book. After Show and Tell, there is time for questions.
What do Santa and Aliens have in common? They both came to Winter School at KIPS this year! We had a present exchange, made green alien jello and christmas theme crafts! Thank you to everyone who came to our Winter School this year. See you again next year!
